Mando: Just say no to “Navajo”
While the appropriation of the word “Navajo” has been in the news recently here in the U.S., Japan is a far cry away from Urban Outfitters. Mando, a Japanese newcomer to the fashion industry, just released this scarf, titled, “Navajo Scarf”. While it is a very nice looking scarf, there really is no need to call it “Navajo”, except for the purpose of cashing in on the popularity of the word to sell clothing, etc.
